Consequences and complications of dryness in the nose

Due to dryness in the nose, the basic protective functions of the nasal mucosa are violated, associated with filtration, warming and moistening of air entering the airways. Permanent strong dryness and stuffiness in the nose without treatment can lead to atrophy of the nasal mucosa, which in the future can even cause the destruction of cartilage and bones.
