If it was possible to harvest a large crop of green tomatoes, certain conditions will be required to store it. The best thing for this purpose is a cardboard box or a wooden box. Each fruit should be examined for signs of decay, drying, and other diseases. Only healthy and undamaged fruit is suitable for storage.

Each tomato should be wrapped in paper and packed neatly in a box. Such a layer can be done no more than five, so that under the weight of the upper the lower fruits do not spoil. The box should be stored in a relatively warm and dry room and then tomatoes will be at your table until the New Year holidays.

  1. If there is free space in a warm room, healthy shrubs with roots break out of the ground along with the tomatoes hanging on them. Then they are hung upside down to the ceiling, and so the plant juices still feed the fruit for some time.
  2. If the tomato is not very much, they can be laid out in rows on a warm sunny windowsill and after a few days they alternately start ripening. When it's overcast in the street, it's recommended to use an ordinary desk lamp.
  3. Another good method, how to accelerate the ripening of ripped green tomatoes - is to put them in a dark warm place. For example, put it in a box and cover it with a woolen blanket. But there is one small trick - to green fruits you need to put one ripe. This is done in order that the ripened tomato, released into the air, ethylene (gas aging).
