This monument was built in 1950 according to the project of Bohumil Kafka. Its author did not find the moment when the sketch was embodied in a work of art, because a few years earlier he had died at the front.

The equestrian statue of Zizka is included in the National Monument on Vitkov, a small memorial complex. The main part of the monument is a necropolis, where the sons of the Czechoslovak clan, legionaries and underground fighters are buried. For Prague, it is a symbol of the liberation of the Czech people. At one time, famous communist figures were buried there, but their remains after 1989 were moved. Included in the complex and a grave dedicated to an unknown soldier.

This is preceded by a huge monument to Jan Zizka, probably the largest in Prague. The famous figure is represented by a rider. The bronze monument weighs 16 tons, and is made up of 120 parts. This Czech sculpture is referred to the list of the largest equestrian bronze monuments in the world.
