Very nice and neat looks hyacinth in pots, so it is often given instead of bouquets. But how to take care of home hyacinth, so that he would enjoy his continuous flowering?
Hyacinth - home care
Indoor hyacinth flower should be put on the lightest window and in the evenings to provide artificial lighting (light should fall on the plant 12-15 hours). It is important to feed the plant in time: at the beginning of growth - a mixture of saltpetre and phosphate, when flower buds were formed - a mixture of superphosphate and potassium, and by the end of flowering - the same mixture, only in equal proportions. After top dressing, it is necessary to loosen the soil, but carefully, so as not to damage the roots of the flower. An obligatory condition for growing a hyacinth at home is its annual transplant.
Most often, hyacinth is not sick at all, but if there are signs of disease of the flower with rot, it is better to get rid of the infected flower and earth.
Reproduction of hyacinths at home
Hyacinth is multiplied by bulbs, and this process consists of such actions:
- remove the bulbs from the pot;
- cleanse well from the ground (do not wash);
- We put in a row in wooden boxes and put them in the warmest place (not in the sun);
- after such storage hyacinth bulbs lay good stems and give more children;
- Before planting, it is possible to carry out preventive treatment with the drug Zaslon.
For good flowering, the following conditions must be observed:
- bulbs, after the hyacinths fade, do not remove from the pot until July;
- when you remove from the peduncle the faded flowers of hyacinths, do not remove the leaves and flower spike (then their nutrients will eventually return to the bulb, and it will become more powerful).
- Before planting, babies of hyacinths must necessarily be on the mother bulb, or they will dry quickly and die.
Planting hyacinth at home
- For planting choose large and healthy bulbs.
- The pot should be of medium size, with a two-tuber length of 5 cm.
- At the bottom of the pot, fill neutral ground (a mixture of turf, leaf land, compost and peat 1: 2: 1: 1), and sand on top.
- When planting bulbs, they only sprinkle with earth, priming around, leaving the tops on the surface. Bulbs should not touch each other.
- After planting the pot put in
a dark place at a temperature of 5 ° C or wrapped in a dark polyethylene film and put in a barn for 6-10 weeks. - When the height of the shoots reaches 2.5-5 cm, transfer the pot to a room with a temperature of 10-12 ° C, first put it in the shade, and then move it closer to the window.
- Then the pot with the bulbs must be transferred to a well-lit, draft-free place away from the batteries with a temperature of 15-20 ° C. The earth is constantly moistened, turning the pot so that the plants grow evenly.
Hyacinth is an unpretentious flower, and growing it at home will not bother you if you follow the recommendations for its care.
