By itself, a sortie to nature, no doubt, will bring pleasure to the lover of active recreation . Departing to South Moravia, it is worth to visit the Moravian Karst near Brno . This is a unique creation of nature , where you should see:

  1. The caves. Despite the fact that the number has exceeded 1000, only 5 of them can be visited - they are the safest. The most famous cave, with which all excursions begin - Punkva. The remaining 4 are called Stolbno-Shoshuvskaya, Katarzhinskaya, Vypustek and Baltsarka.
  2. Underground river. Thanks to it and other, smaller streams, for thousands of years underground tunnels washed out in limestone, which eventually turned into caves of Moravian Karst. The river is also called Punkva. From here on a small boat you can make a trip to the underground lake , into which it flows.
  3. The abyss of Macocha , located in the middle of Europe, invariably attracts tourists with its history and frightening beauty. They were formed because of the collapse of the ceiling of one of the caves. In Czech, the stepmother sounds like "matzoh." According to the old legend, the stepmother dropped her stepson there, and then, panting with remorse, she jumped herself. The child managed to escape, as he was caught by the branches of a shrub growing on a cliff, and the wicked stepmother died. The depth of the cave is 138 m, and the monk-speleologist Lazar Schopper was the first to descend to it. To inspect this grotto is allowed from the lower and upper bridges, climbing the cable car.
  4. Stalactites and stalagmites. These natural vertical formations can be found in the Katarzhinskoye cave.
  5. Helicites. These limestone deposits are strikingly different from stalactites and stalagmites, because they grow parallel to the earth. The growth of the heliktit does not cease, since it is fed with a limestone solution by capillaries passing inside.
  6. Bull cliff. The entrance to this cave is extraordinarily picturesque and fully corresponds to its name. During the war, inside was a factory, hidden by the Germans from prying eyes. Unfortunately, visitors can see only the external façade, as for the visits the grotto is closed.
  7. The bats. There are several types. To be afraid of these animals it is not necessary, as on people they do not attack, and only occasionally fly above a head. To protect yourself, it is better to wear dark clothes that do not attract their attention.
