Mucous discharge from the vagina

Vaginal discharge, which is mucous in nature, is the norm if they are clear or slightly cloudy. Their opacity is explained by the fact that they contain epithelial cells. During the day, remaining on the laundry, they can acquire a slightly yellowish tinge.

The volume of excreta, as well as their character during the period of menstrual changes. So, at the time of ovulation, the mucous discharge increases from the vaginal cavity, and the consistency changes: they become tractable, and more transparent than usual, resemble the protein of a chicken egg. They last no more than 2-3 days. Long, plentiful vaginal discharge, mucous nature, are a sign of the disease.

White mucous discharge

The cause of the appearance of mucous membranes, secretions from the vagina of white color, is the infection of the genital tract. An example of such a disease, may be thrush (candidamycosis), which is accompanied by white precipitates of curdled nature. With trichomoniasis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, excretions also have a white color.

Yellow selection

If the mucous discharge changes color, it is worth considering about the infection. Thus, mucous discharge from the vagina of predominantly yellow color is often a symptom of such diseases as adnexitis (inflammation of the ovaries), salpingitis, bacterial infection. If the discharge from the vagina is yellow and bubble, then perhaps they are a manifestation of a sexually transmitted infection - trichomoniasis. With gonorrhea, there are also yellow discharge, having an unpleasant odor and accompanied by itching in the groin area.

Brown mucous discharge

The cause of the appearance of mucous, bloody and brown discharge from the vaginal cavity, is often the defeat of the endometrium. Often they appear with such diseases as, endometritis, endometrial hyperplasia. With an existing pregnancy, they are a signal of changes such as detachment of the fetal egg and ectopic pregnancy.
