Occultism is a term that originated from the Latin word occultus, which in translation means "secret". This is a common name for the whole variety of teachings that believe in the existence of secret, hidden forces within each person and the cosmos in general. There are entire communities that accept only the "initiated." This current in its time influenced even scientific experiments. Now occultism is a synonym for esotericism. Occult signs and symbols
Esotericism deals with the study of all hidden, unknown - magic, astrology, numerology . In many of the teachings there is also a share of religious meaning: representatives of these currents associate themselves with Christianity, Islam, Buddhism or Hinduism. For example, people who read conspiracies often turn to Orthodox saints in texts.
Occult signs are special symbols that mean a lot to representatives of various currents, characterize their faith and beliefs. They are used both as distinctive marks, and in the course of rituals.
Occult objects
Occult objects include various amulets, stones, talismans, ornaments, which are designed to have a specific effect on their owner. On some of them, occult signs can be painted, symbolizing the necessary impact (and, as many believe, attract it).
Most often people perceive the word "occult" as a sign of black magic , appealing to negative forces, the devil. However, this is not always the case, because in the broad sense of the word "occult" and "esoteric" are interchangeable. An occult object can be considered a regular ring with a sapphire or other stone if its owner believes that the stone has some influence on him.
