Paraffin bath

Paraffinotherapy is one of the most popular and popular technologies for improving the body. For the first time they talked about it for a long time - back in 1902. It was the French doctor Bart de Sandorf, who noticed that the thermal properties of paraffin can positively affect the human body. But this method was widely used during the First World War in combat injury clinics. In the Kiev psychoneurological institute, paraffin therapy was given special attention in 1929 - then the treatment methods were developed, which were accompanied by scientific reports of leading specialists.

How does paraffin therapy work, and what are the expected effects on the skin?

The range of medical indications for paraffinotherapy is much wider than the cosmetology.

In medicine, paraffin therapy is indicated for varicosity, burns, wounds and injuries, trophic ulcers, with frostbite, diseases of the female genital area, bronchitis, tracheitis, etc.

In cosmetology paraffin baths are useful for skin improvement - for cellulite, dryness and age-related skin changes.

Paraffin retains heat well, so procedures based on it have one goal - deep heating of tissues. Thanks to warming up to the skin, blood flows, in this area the updating processes are accelerated, spasms are removed and stagnant processes are eliminated.

Given the mass of benefits that paraffinotherapy gives, and the fact that today it is not necessary to leave the house for cosmetology procedures on its basis, this method is very convenient.

How to choose a paraffin bath?

So, for carrying out paraffin baths at home, you will need to buy a special device. The price of such trays is relatively low, it depends on the volume of the paraffin and additional functions.

The average capacity of the tub is from 2 to 2.5 kg with a minimum load of 1.5 kg. But there are also more voluminous baths - it's convenient if the whole family is supposed to be used, because the men's feet are more female and, accordingly, the size of the bath and its volume should be appropriate. Since the bath allows you to carry out not only cosmetic, but also therapeutic procedures, choosing a large device will be a far-sighted and successful decision.

Which paraffin bath is better depends on the need: there are small baths designed only for the hands, but it is more expedient to immediately purchase a multifunctional bathtub with which you can warm up not only the hands, but also the feet, elbows and even the face.

In the bath must be at least two thermal regimes - rapid heating (for heating the paraffin) and maintaining the temperature. Typically, the temperature range can be adjusted, it is small - from 50 to 54 or 58 degrees. The wider the temperature range, the higher the price.

The device for paraffin baths should be made of high-quality materials - durable non-toxic plastic with a metal container inside. Also pay attention to the presence of a mesh, which is placed on the bottom, so as not to burn during the procedure. At the bottom there is a heating element, which maintains the temperature of the paraffin, and therefore the bottom of the bath can be very hot.

Paraffin baths for feet, as a rule, can contain up to 4 kg of paraffin.

How to use a paraffin bath?

The procedure for conducting the procedures is as follows:

  1. Before you make paraffin baths, in addition to the apparatus, you need to buy a medical paraffin in the amount that the bath suggests.
  2. Then the paraffin needs to be broken into small pieces so that it melts faster, and put it in the bath.
  3. After that, the bath is turned on to the desired mode, and while paraffin is melted, it is necessary to prepare that part of the body that needs to be heated.
  4. Cleanse the skin with soap and scrub, remove all ornaments.
  5. Then try - if the paraffin is not too hot, and if so, then press the heating shutdown button.
  6. After a while, put your legs or hands in the tub and pull it out. When the paraffin hardens a little, repeat the action. Do this several times to form several layers on the skin.
  7. After that, put on warm gloves or socks and after 30 minutes remove paraffin. The used paraffin, left on hands, can no longer be used, so throw it away.

The paraffin remaining in the container can be used up to a maximum of 40 times, then it must be replaced.
