Pear "Memory of Yakovlev" - description of the variety

Among the many varieties of pear trees, there are not so many that they could easily adapt to different soils and weather whims, year after year delighting with regular abundant harvests. The sort of pear "In memory of Yakovlev", born as a result of crossing the pears "Theme" and "Olivier de Serre", has excellent characteristics that will please even the most fastidious gardener.

Description of the pear variety "In memory of Yakovlev"

"Yakovlev's memory" is included in the group of early ripening varieties reaching maturity in the first ten days of September. Fruits that are medium in size (150-200 grams) and classic pear-shaped, are covered with a delicate bright yellow skin with a pronounced blush. After the ripening, the fruit is kept long enough on the tree, not crumbling.

The taste characteristics of the variety are also at a high level: the pulp is juicy, semi-oily with a tender sweet-sour taste. The fruit grows for 4-5 years after planting, each year yielding abundant harvests. With due care, the 7-8-year-old tree can give from 15 to 22 kg of delicious pears.

The pear trees of the Pamyati Yakovleva variety have rather compact dimensions: the height does not exceed 2 meters, and the crown has a symmetrical spherical shape. Due to this, not even a small area can accommodate several trees of this sort. Another significant advantage of the variety can be called its unpretentious: even young trees without losses can withstand both winter frosts and sharp temperature changes in the spring. But for the summer drought, the variety reacts with a deterioration in fruit quality and a sharp decrease in their quantity. The pear variety "In memory of Yakovlev" is highly self-fertile and can be grown without external pollinators. To increase the yield, you can use as pollinators varieties "Lada" and "Avgustovskaya."
