Placental polyp after medoborta

The placental polyp is one of the many complications a woman can face after a med-abortion, miscarriage, a dead pregnancy or childbirth.

The cause of placental polyp formation after abortion, both after surgical and medicamentous, is the remnants of placental tissue that retained their food and were fibrosed.

Diagnosis and Symptoms

Since the placental polyp belongs to the number of late complications after abortion, respectively, the characteristic symptomatology in the form of bloody discharge from the genital tract manifests itself not immediately, but approximately in 1-3 weeks after scraping. In general, patients who have experienced this problem note prolonged bleeding, which disappear and then reappear. Sometimes after a while there are strong uterine bleeding, pain in the lower abdomen, as well as other symptoms characteristic of the general intoxication of the body. This condition is associated with infection of the uterus and appendages, which occurred as a result of the formation of the polyp.

As a rule, placental polyps can be diagnosed with hysteroscopy or ultrasound.

Regardless of the cause that triggered the appearance of the polyp (labor, medical or medical abortion, miscarriage, frozen pregnancy), this education requires surgical treatment by scraping or vacuum aspiration.
