Restoration of the hymen

In girls who have not yet started to have sex, the entrance to the vagina is closed with a thin membrane called the hymen. Most often it has an annular shape and is torn during the first sexual intercourse, which is called defloration. In some cases, this is accompanied by a slight bleeding.

Sometimes women are interested in whether it is possible to restore the hymen. Indeed, there is a medical procedure that is able to cope with this issue. It is called hymenoplasty and is an operative intervention, which should be performed by an experienced doctor. Women want to fulfill it for various reasons. For someone, such a need arises before the wedding, someone is moved by curiosity. And sometimes the operation to restore the hymen to the victims of rape. Hymenoplasty is temporary and long-term (three-layer). Each of the operations has its own characteristics.

Temporary Hymenoplasty

This procedure is performed under local anesthesia. During the operation, the doctor models the spit, stitching its remains with special threads. Manipulate those patients who have had a short amount of time after defloration. In addition, the operation gives a short effect and after 2 weeks the threads dissolve. Therefore, temporary hymenoplasty is done a few days before sexual intercourse. During a lifetime, such an intervention can be repeated no more than 2 times.

• it is a minor trauma surgery;
• after the manipulation after 2 hours the woman has the opportunity to return to her habitual way of life;
• such intervention does not affect the menstrual cycle.

Three-layered hymenoplasty

This procedure is used as an opportunity to restore the hymen to those women who have had a significant amount of time after the defloration and is used even for those giving birth.

Such manipulation is carried out under general anesthesia. The doctor creates a membrane using mucosal tissues. The entrance is sewed with special threads. They dissolve within a month. During this period the patient is recommended to refrain from sexual relations.

This procedure has the following advantages:

• the effect persists for 3 years;
• at coition after the operation, sensation and bleeding may be even stronger than with a real rupture;
• can be performed an unlimited number of times.

On the type of manipulation depends on how much it costs to restore the hymen. Temporary restoration costs less than three-layer restoration.
