Senade - instructions for use

Senadé is a laxative preparation of plant origin (based on the extract of Senna leaves), stimulating intestinal peristalsis.

Form release and therapeutic impact Senada

Senade is available in the form of brown tablets, in blisters for 20 pieces. There are no other forms of drug release for today. One tablet contains 93.33 mg of Senna extract, but the laxative effect is exerted by the salts of sennosides A and B contained in the extract, and the concentration of the active ingredient is usually indicated by their number (13.5 mg in one tablet).

Sennosides have a direct effect on the receptors of the mucous membrane of the large intestine, and thus stimulate smooth muscles, cause an increase in peristalsis and, accordingly, evacuation of the intestine. It is believed that this laxative in normal concentration does not change the consistency of the stool and does not cause diarrhea, although with an overdose it can provoke diarrhea.

Indications for use in Senada, according to the instructions

Since Senada does not change the consistency of feces, it can not be taken with all kinds of constipation. The drug is effective:

The drug is contraindicated in:

Since frequent defecation can lead to a decrease in the absorption of fluid from the intestine, Senada is also not recommended for taking into account the propensity to dehydration and pronounced disturbances in the water-electrolyte balance in the body, and with caution in cases of kidney and liver diseases.

Side Effects of Senado

Immediately when taking tablets, flatulence and colicky pains in the abdomen can appear, and the color of urine may change to a yellow-brown or red-brown hue. With prolonged intake or overdose, it is possible to develop diarrhea, dehydration, the occurrence of nausea and vomiting. When taking the drug in conjunction with the root of licorice or diuretics is likely to develop hypokalemia.

As a rule, Senad take 1 tablet a day, before going to bed, drinking enough (about a glass) of liquid. If there is no effect, the dose can be increased, and exactly how much Senade to take in this case is determined individually, but not more than 3 tablets per day. Increase in the dose is carried out gradually, half the tablets per day.

How often can Senape be taken?

The maximum effect of the drug is observed 8-9 hours after admission, so for the normalization of the stool the drug it is recommended to take 1 time per day. More frequent administration can provoke more frequent defecation.

How long can Senape be taken in tablets?

The maximum period of taking the drug is two weeks. A longer duration of treatment may cause undesirable side effects, and in addition receptors become accustomed to stimulation, which may require the use of stronger laxatives in the future.

In the absence of the necessary effect for three days, the medication should be discontinued and consult a doctor.
