Perhaps, all the shade-loving plant can be divided into three groups - flowering, berry and decorative-deciduous. All of them have their own advantages, and besides the aesthetic pleasure they can also benefit in the form of edible fruits.
Shade-loving flowering shrubs
Not always bright flowers on plants are on the sunny side of the site. You can pick up those for a shady corner:
- rhododendron - a beautiful evergreen shrub with leathery leaves and incredibly bright flowers; It is ideal for planting between trees, where all other plants will only wither;
- garden jasmine or chubushnik decorate any corner, because thanks to the lush white color, this plant is very attractive; In addition, the chubushnik has a very pleasant, delicate aroma; the plant has excellent qualities - drought and frost resistance, undemanding to the composition of the soil, but to maintain the shape requires regular pruning.
Shade-friendly berry bushes
If you want to see as many useful plants grow in the garden, then your attention should be paid to such:
- barberry common - quite an interesting plant, which is attractive not only because of its foliage, changing color, but also because of berries, which are often used in dishes of oriental cuisine;
- gooseberry - a fairly shade-tolerant plant, which is also not demanding for irrigation; having planted it on the site, soon you can enjoy a fine jam from amber berries;
- hazel - many consider it a tree, but in fact it is a very useful shrub that perfectly feels in the shade and gives an abundant harvest of nuts.
Shade-like ornamental shrubs for the garden
The largest group of shade-tolerant bushes is decorative. Try planting such plants in yourselves to admire some year-round:
- Forcing - the bright lemon foliage of this shrub will delight the eye for several months; it looks very beautiful in group plantings and as a hedgerow;
- The spindle leaves with its incredible color leaves will be seen even from under the snow cover, recalling the summer; the plant is unpretentious and requires only a minimal formation of the bush;
- Mahonia pallidus is also an evergreen shrub for shady places, grows well in moist areas.
