Each mother wants the best for her child and knows that breastfeeding in the first year of life is the most acceptable option. But sometimes the kid, despite the famine, refuses the breast. The baby does not take the breast: causes
Breast cancellation can be caused by two groups of causes: the first is related to the state of the baby, the second is due to the characteristics of the mammary glands of the mother.
With the first group:
- the child does not take the breast well if his sucking reflex is not sufficiently developed;
- he suffered from hypoxia during intrauterine development or during labor;
- after the birth of the baby was fed from a bottle;
- he is not hungry yet;
- the child incorrectly takes a breast, because of it quickly gets tired and does not eat up;
- he has a short frenum.
If a child refuses to take a breast, then often the reasons lie in the characteristics of the mammary glands of the mother:
- because of a flat or drawn nipple, a child with a well developed sucking reflex is hard pressed to the chest;
- because of lactostasis (clogging of the milk duct and milk stagnation), the area around the areola of the nipple can swell and compact, making it hard for the baby to suckle.
Sometimes breast failure occurs when a combination of causes, for example, a baby with an immature sucking reflex can not suck a breast with flat nipples.
What if the baby does not take the breast?
When the baby does not want to breastfeed, he cries loudly, yells and turns his head away. Mom starts to get nervous and upset. And, afraid to leave the baby hungry, he offers him a bottle with a mixture or expressed milk. But if the lactation is all right, the woman needs to have patience to return the baby's desire to suck his breast.

If the child refuses to take the breast because of feeding a bottle, the mother needs a large amount of aging. This happens for colds (especially in the common cold, when the baby is difficult to breathe), teething, stress from a change in the situation.
