The rules of the game of tennis

You, for sure, more than once admired the skillful play of famous tennis players. But such a pastime can afford not only sports stars, but also ordinary people, and even children. The advantage of this rest is compactness and relatively low cost of equipment for fans, and in maintaining the physical form, tennis can compete with running. But, like in every sport, there are some nuances that newcomers should know about. Therefore, we will briefly consider the rules of big tennis.

What should the court look like?

To the site where the tennis tournament will take place, special requirements are made. Its size in the case of a one-on-one match should be 23.77x8.23 m. For doubles, the width is increased to 10.97 m.

Exactly in the middle of the court it is necessary to divide the court with a grid, which is suspended by means of a cord or a cable at an altitude of 1.07 m on the racks (due to sagging in the middle the height is 0.914 m). At this level, it is fixed with a central strap, tightly pulling it. The tape that is available on the top edge of the net and the belt should only be selected in white. In the rules of big tennis for beginners it is clearly stated that the width of the marking lines is 2.5-5 cm, and they are carried out only in contrast color.

What should a beginner know about the game?

If you just want to join the big tennis, for sure you will find the following recommendations useful:

  1. Play can be two people or two pairs of players, which are placed on both sides of the grid. The goal of the game is to transfer the tennis ball to the side of your competitor in such a way that he can not return it to your half of the field.
  2. A tennis match begins with a pitch - putting the ball into play. The submission is considered valid if the ball, being in the air, flies across the net to the territory of the opponent. First, the player throws the ball into the air with his hand, and then strikes him hard with the racket, completing the pitch. The ball is allowed to serve both from below and from above.
  3. According to the rules of filing in tennis, the player is not allowed to change at that moment his location - to walk or run, jump up, to step outside the boundary line of the site. Always put the ball in a diagonal direction. From the first position the ball needs to be sent to the first pitch, and from the second - respectively, to the second.
  4. If the pitch is not executed correctly, the point is not counted. The first failure gives the player a chance to prove himself repeatedly, but if the rules are violated twice, a point gets his opponent.
  5. It is very important not to start filing before the opponent prepares to repel the blow, otherwise this submission will be considered void. When you begin to learn the rules of the game of tennis for teapots, there are certainly considered in detail other cases when the blow is not counted: if you hand over the thrown ball at hand, and not beat it with a racket, or the ball in flight will hit the net. The same will happen if you accidentally cross the lines that limit the pitch, drop the ball to the ground, when the server throws it up or does not hit the ball.
  6. In each match the first serve is done from the first position, and then it is alternated with the second position. It is not necessary to wait for the ball to land and its bounce off the ground to reflect it with a racket: it is acceptable to repel it on the fly.
  7. Matches consist of sets, and those, in turn, from games. In the game, up to three points are scored: the first and second are counted for 15 points, for the third 10. According to the rules of the game of tennis, the player who wins these 40 points wins. In one set points are counted up to 6 wins in games. A match may include 3 or 5 sets in which players transfer each other's right of first serve.
