Top dressing of gladiolus

Any plants in your area need care and additional fertilizing. Especially good respond to such care flowers. Below we will consider the scheme for introducing nutrients for gladioli.

Fertilizer for gladioli

To flowers pleased you with abundant and long flowering, they must be properly fertilized. As for the feeding of gladioli, it occurs in four stages.

  1. The first time this is nitrogen fertilizer. They should be introduced as soon as two or three real leaflets appear on the plant. Ammonium nitrate, urea or ammonium sulfate are used. Some gardeners say that sodium or potassium nitrates are much more effective.
  2. The second time, the feeding is done when the plant already has the sixth real leaflet. At once three groups work at once: nitric, phosphoric and potash. Complex ready mixes for berry or vegetable crops are also suitable for fertilizing gladioli.
  3. The third time the gladioli feeding is carried out at a time when the peduncles begin to form. For these purposes, superphosphates are used, which are scattered near the plantations at a rate of 40 g per square meter. Then they raise the urea in a 10-liter bucket and water the flowers with this solution.
  4. The fourth feeding of gladioli during the cultivation will ensure a long flowering. In this case, we focus on potash fertilizers. Potassium-phosphorus top dressing gladioli during flowering also allows you to keep bulbs in winter without problems. At this stage, nitrogen fertilizers are discarded. To topple the gladiolus in July in 10 liters of water a mixture of superphosphates and potassium sulfate is diluted, then the plants are watered.

With this approach, you will not only receive abundant flowering in this season, but also provide it in the next year.
