About the waterfall

The amount of water in the waterfall varies greatly: from December to March this is a small stream, hidden under an ice shell; in April and October, the amount of water slightly increases; From July to September, snow begins to melt, thunder rains and the Trummelbach waterfall turns into a stormy river with a flow of 20,000 liters.

The waterfall originates at the tops of the mountains of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau . The fault resulting from the descent of the glacier allows the water to flow unhindered down into the valley. The Trummelbach waterfall is born on a glacier and even in summer the water is ice cold. By the way, the water of the Trummelbach waterfall is similar to milk. This is due to the fact that the water erodes the rocks and the sand with clay stains it in a whitish color. Every year, water flows wash up to 20 tons of stone.
