General information

The ampel bacop is a representative of the Noricnikov family, which includes about a hundred different species. Most of these species are aquatic. They are often used for landscaping aquariums. In the wild, bakop can be found in the American tropics and subtropics. Flower bakop, being an unpretentious and long-flowering plant, is often used in landscape design. This ground-covering looks great on the Alpine hills .

The foliage of the ampel bakop is rather small, has a bright green juicy color. Leaflets on the branches are arranged in pairs. The length of shoots can reach sixty centimeters, but usually they grow to 30-40 centimeters. If you want the plant to grow in breadth, shoots should be periodically plucked. As for drooping shoots, they are strewn with small flowers, which can have a white, blue or pink color. Even with changes in temperature and humidity, their attractiveness does not disappear. Flowering in ampel bacon has a wavy character. At first the plant blossoms in a magnificent color, then slows down a little, and then again pleases the eye with an abundance of flowers. But this is possible only if the bakop receives proper care. For normal growth, she needs frequent watering and good lighting.

Growing bakopa is associated with some nuances. We'll talk about them in the next section.

Planting and care

Cultivation of a bacon can be carried out from seeds and cuttings. If you chose the first option, then wait until the ground gets warm to +18 degrees. Do you want to get seedlings before? Then the seeds of the bakop should be germinated in a mini-greenhouse. After you plant them on the surface of the ground, pour it and put the container in a warm place, which during the day is well lit. Within a week or two, the seeds will germinate. Dive the seedlings when the second sheet appears. Repeated diving is necessary when the leaves are six. In this case, the seedlings must be slightly buried in the ground.

Planting of the plant with cuttings is carried out in the spring, after the shoots have been cut from old bacops. They are planted in wet sand, waiting for the roots to appear. Planting and caring for cuttings of bakop labor are not. Florists recommend that before rooting cuttings, they should be treated with growth stimulants, and then covered with foil.

The place for planting should be chosen solar, because the shadow for the bacon is fatal. At first it will build up the green mass, and then it will die. But the temperature drops for ampel bakop are not terrible. In winter, the plant should be transferred from balconies and terraces to a room or a loggia. In winter, the bakop rests, does not blossom.

Watering a bakop needs regular and abundant. In the summer it is worth watering up to three times a day, and in winter four times a week will be enough. Fertilize the bakop is recommended by liquid top dressing from April to October, and during flowering - every ten days.

The stability of a bacon to diseases and pests can be called average. If the plant is in a dry room, then the main danger for him is a whitefly.

Obviously, growing an ampel bakop is not a troublesome thing, and a flowering plant will create coziness in your home.
