Bird Park (Agadir)

The bird park in Agadir , also called the "Valley of Birds" or the Birds Valley, is very popular not only among the Moroccans themselves, but also among tourists from different countries who have a rest in the city.

History of creation

Earlier, on the site of the Valley of Birds, a river flowed, its path was from the boulevard Hassan II to the boulevard on August 20, near the beach. But after years the river dried up, and the Moroccans decided to organize a natural park on this place.

What is interesting in the park of birds?

Strictly speaking, this is not only a bird park, but a mini-zoo. In other words, the whole park is divided into two parts, one of them is occupied by cages with birds, and the other is dedicated to mammals, mainly cloven-hoofed animals. Visitors can see here monkeys, gazelles, deer, rams, kangaroos, mountain goats, lamas and even wild boars and Egyptian mustangs. A variety of birds also amazes guests of the park: pink flamingos, parrots, peacocks, cranes, ducks, swans, pigeons, hens and roosters.

Wide and shady avenues, cleanliness and a large number of green spaces, fountains and benches along the paths, a children's playground - all this makes the Bird Park in Morocco a very cozy and undoubtedly convenient place for a quiet family vacation and unity with nature. Also on the territory there is a beautiful artificial waterfall, statues of animals and birds and a small lake where you can rent a boat.

At the entrance to the park of birds on the embankment you can meet a bright tourist mini-train and ride it or on horses, which, incidentally, are allowed to feed. Near the "Valley of Birds" you will see a museum dedicated to the terrible devastating earthquake of 1960 in Agadir, which killed several thousand inhabitants of the city.
