What is the peculiarity of the zoo in Tsimbazaz in Madagascar?

The creation of the park dates back to 1925. Then it played the role of a kind of museum of wildlife. The place and theme of the park are chosen not by chance, because in ancient times on this territory the representatives of the royal couple and their approximate people liked to walk. The name "tsimbazaz" is also indirectly associated with this fact. It is translated as "not for children", because here there were ceremonies of farewell to the deceased monarchs, during which the bulls were brutally slaughtered.

Nowadays the park of Tsymbazaz does not correspond to its name, because today it is a favorite place among small tourists. Its visit will be an excellent sightseeing tour on the theme of the flora and fauna of the island. Moreover, here is the Malagasy Academic Museum. Among its exhibits there are truly rare artifacts. For example, under the windows of the museum are the skeletons of gigantic lemurs, which are considered extinct, and huge three-meter birds - epiornis, whose representatives to this day also did not remain.

The entrance to the museum is paid. For non-residents of the country, the fee will be about $ 3, local residents will be charged $ 0.5.
