Depending on the desired final taste, you can use vodka, cognac or moonshine as an alcoholic beverage base. Taking into account the peculiarities of the specific recipe, namely, the fact that the sugar used in the liqueur is not sugar syrup, but ordinary sugar, the taste of alcohol in the finished product will be easily felt.

Before you make a cherry liqueur, you need to prepare the berry in a special way. After touching cherries and removing their pedicels, nibble each of the berries or neatly cut to expose the bone and part of the pulp, which in the future will give a pronounced taste. Prepared cherries pour into enameled dishes and cover with a layer of sugar. Without stirring the contents of jars, pour vodka into them and cover them with lids. Leave the cherry liqueur in the dark and cool for 3 months, and at the end of the period, gently strain it through the gauze slice.

After all the bones are removed, the cherry pulp is kneaded, and a part of the bones (about a dozen) are crushed and transferred to a pouch of gauze. Cherry pulp is mixed with sugar, leaves of cherry and mint, then poured vodka and leave the liquor infused, pre-tightly closed. The first week of insisting the bank with the liquor should be held in the sun, after which it is transferred to the cool for another month. After completing the infusion, the drink is filtered.

Cherry liqueur at home without vodka

An alternative to vodka can be a quality moonshine. The proportions of this recipe can be easily remembered: for 1 kg of cherries should take 1 kg of sugar and 1.5 liters of alcohol diluted to 40 degrees.

Peeled cherry pulp from the bones in the jar. For the fragrance, a part of the bones can also be broken, placed in a gauze pouch and left in a container with a cherry. Cook the sugar syrup, diluting the sugar in 0.5 liters of boiling water. Add the cooled syrup to the jar, then pour the alcohol and close the container. The drink is kept for a couple of months in a cool.
