Christmas decorations made of paper

New Year is approaching, which means it's time to reflect on the decoration of the house, office space, the kindergarten group. And the first thing that comes to mind is New Year's garlands, snowflakes and other ornaments made of paper.

Paper garlands by hand

There are lots of options. From the simplest rings, glued from strips of colored paper and fastened together in long "sausages" to garlands of elements of complex shape.

But why do we perceive garlands only as horizontally suspended ornaments? Let's look at the options of the garlands hanging from the ceiling - they fill the whole space and create simply an unrivaled New Year's mood.

Moreover, it is not difficult to make such Christmas decorations with your own hands from paper. You just need to properly cut colored paper, properly glue it all and hang it.

For the first garland, you need to make several blanks of colored paper, as shown in the photo below and bond them together with glue or a stapler.

And you can cut narrow strips of colored cardboard, stitch them on the sewing machine, putting all the elements in sequence one by one. Suspending this garland, you need to lighten its lower edge a little bit of plasticine or other small object by weight and dimensions.

Snowflakes from paper - master class

Simple snowflakes from napkins are in the past, today voluminous snowflakes are unusually popular. Here is one example of such a New Year decoration, which can be fully absorbed with your children.

We make a snowflake from a simple sheet of A4 paper. Fold it in half, cut, each sheet and add it once diagonally, cutting off the excess. These resulting squares again fold in half diagonally.

We cut out petals, and in each petal we make two notches, not reaching the place of the fold. The resulting blank is carefully unfolded.

We glue the middle parts of the petals to the middle, and we make such manipulations with each petal. Similarly, we work with the second workpiece.

We glue the two preforms together crosswise - there is a voluminous two-sided snowflake made of paper.

Christmas decoration from paper for windows

Do not stop there and decorate the windows in the room. As an option, you can glue on them flat paper snowflakes, but you can go further and create a whole fabulous volumetric world on a windowsill with a spruce forest, Santa Claus sledges, houses and backlighting. Such a Christmas decoration will be unforgettable for your children.
