  1. All liquid ingredients are mixed in a saucepan.
  2. We put on medium fire and mix it to a homogeneous consistency.
  3. Add portions of starch and continue to stir continuously, so that the mass is not burnt.
  4. At first the mixture will be like liquid curd, and then it will look like mashed potatoes. We get in the way until the whole mass is gathered in a coma around the spoon.
  5. We remove from the fire, we put the hot mass on a damp clean kitchen towel and wrap it in it.
  6. We knead and mix the mass with hands through the towel until it cools down.
  7. After removing the towel, continue to mix the mass with your hands, constantly lubricating them with cornstarch, so as not to stick.
  8. When the mass becomes soft, plastic and stops sticking, put it in a plastic bag or tightly closed container. Our cold porcelain is ready for use.

Preparation:

  1. Mix all the liquid components.
  2. Add the sifted starch, stir to a homogeneous mass and strain.
  3. We put it in a water bath and warm it up, stirring constantly.
  4. Starch begins to be brewed in places with the highest temperature. If we do not have time to mix in a bath, then we take off and mix it, and then put it again on the bath. We do this until we get a lump on the spoon.
  5. Spread the mixture on a damp towel, wrap and mix the mass through it, until it cools.
  6. After removing the towel, continue to mix the mass with your hands, if necessary, lubricating them with starch.
  7. When the mass becomes plastic and stops sticking, we remove it into the container.

Recipe # 3 - Making cold porcelain from potato starch without cooking

You will need:

Preparation:

  1. In clean and dry dishes, carefully grind two tablespoons of starch and one spoonful of petroleum jelly.
  2. Add baking soda on the tip of a teaspoon and mix.
  3. Stirring the mixture, gradually add the glue PVA, starting with 1 teaspoon.
  4. When the mixture becomes soft, grease with petroleum jelly and knead the resulting mass to the full.

How to paint cold porcelain?

Painting cold porcelain can be using various paints (oil, acrylic, oil, etc.) and food colors, for this you need to add color to the finished mass and knead, so that the color is distributed evenly.

For painting the finished frozen product, apply a dry food paint to the element with a brush, then it is kept above the steam from the kettle. In this case, porcelain absorbs the dye and produces a more natural color.

The drying time of cold porcelain depends on the thickness of the product and varies from one to several days, while the product size is reduced. When drying, the flat figures must be turned over so that they do not deform. To speed up the drying process, you can use the oven, where the products are baked at minimum temperature.

Cold porcelain is a very plastic material, it is possible to mold anything from it. To decorate your masterpieces you can use different materials: beads, beads, threads, shells, pieces of cloth, etc.

For modeling, you can use other masses made with your own hands: clay or salted dough .
