Country furniture with own hands from improvised materials

The construction of country furniture with their own hands from improvised materials is a great way to use the remains of boards or bricks after construction, show your imagination, and also make your holiday home more convenient. In addition, such designer furniture will only be in your possession and in a single copy, although you will not spend a penny on it. Today we will tell you how to build a bench from a board and two boulders lying before it.

Preparing the bench for the bench

For our garden furniture, with your own hands, from materials at hand, namely benches , you need any wide enough board, which is at your disposal. Suited even unedged.

  1. We process the board with a planer and saw off a piece of the same length as our bench. If the board is thick enough, you can make a rather long bench, on which several people can sit comfortably. But more thin boards will bend at too long length. This should be taken into account when choosing the size of the future bench.
  2. We choose a place for the future bench. We put a board there and note where the supports will be located. They will be at opposite ends of the board, but its edges should protrude about 10 cm above the fixing point.

Working with a stone

Supports for our bench will consist of two large boulders of approximately the same size.

  1. We transport them to the place for the future bench on the wheelbarrow. If you have a lawn in your garden, then when you make unusual furniture for a dacha from materials with your own hands, you need to move materials from place to place on special boards.
  2. We remove the stones from the cart on the boards and move them to the location of the bench supports.
  3. We measure the highest height of each stone and mark on the ground the place where they will stand.
  4. We dig pits with a depth of 15-20 cm for the foundation of boulders. This is necessary for greater stability of the entire structure.
  5. We measure the depth of the wells. Do not forget that if one stone is bigger than another, then the pit should be deeper for it, in order to get a smooth construction in the future.
  6. Create a pillow for stones 10 cm thick. We pour sand into the pit, wetting it with water, carefully compact it to obtain a solid base.
  7. We load boulders into our pit. We fall asleep the distance between its walls and the surface of the stone with sand.
  8. Sprinkle the pit with gravel from above, so that the sand will not wash out with rain in the course of time.

Collecting benches

  1. At the ends of the board we drill holes of such size that they can be screwed in the anchor bolts. Then, using a feather drill, widen the entrance to the holes so that the bolt cover is recessed in the board.
  2. A diamond drill makes holes in the upper parts of the stones.
  3. We connect a wooden board and stones with anchor bolts. This is done by clogging and then twisting with a socket wrench.
  4. We cover the board with a special lacquer for outdoor work, which will protect the wood from spoilage and rejoice in our new original bench.
