What is yeast and what is the use for garden, garden and indoor plants?

All the same yeasts that are used in cooking for baking bread and pies have such a rich composition that, under their influence, plant growth is activated, their resistance to various pests and diseases is strengthened, and the process of root formation is accelerated. Yeasts are rich in proteins, carbohydrates, organic iron, contain a lot of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids and growth substances.

In addition, the yeast solution also has a beneficial effect on soil microorganisms. The composition of the soil is markedly improved, from the organic matter nitrogen and phosphorus are formed in it. True, there is one downside: during fermentation yeast absorbs a lot of potassium, but this problem is solved. To compensate for this shortage, watering the plants with yeast is carried out in parallel with the application of ash infusion .

Yeasts can withstand the process of crushing, drying and pressing, but they can die when interacting with other bacteria. Therefore, for the efficiency of yeast fermentation, it is important to keep the process clean.

Which plants can be watered with yeast?

As far as necessary, absolutely any plants like vegetables, flowers, fruit-berry and cultivated plants love yeast. Particularly pronounced react to yeast fertilizer crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, as well as petunia and geranium.

How to feed plants with yeast?

It should be noted that as well as in cooking, yeast starts to act only in the heat. Therefore, use yeast solution for growth and strengthening of plants should be only when the ground is already sufficiently warmed, and this is possible only in late spring and, of course, in the summer.

Use for fertilizing you can both dry and fresh yeast. Dry yeast is diluted in warm water in a ratio of 10 g per 10 liters. Then add 2 tablespoons of sugar and allow to stand for about 2 hours. After this, the solution is diluted with 50 liters of water and watered the plants. Concerning the fresh yeast, the proportion varies slightly: 1 kg of yeast is diluted in 5 liters of water. Further, also insist, dilute 50 liters of water and use for irrigation.

To root the cuttings in 1 liter of boiled water at room temperature, dissolve a pinch of dry yeast. Soak cuttings there, and after a day they take it out, wash it and put it in water. Soon, a thickening appears at the ends of the cuttings, and then the roots.

In addition to yeast obtained by artificial way, you can independently prepare a leaven, for example, from wheat grains. To do this, 1 cup of wheat should be poured with water and put on to germinate for about 1 day. Then grind the grains in porridge and add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar and flour to a thick consistency. Further on a small fire cook the porridge, after which it must be put in a warm place for a day before the fermentation process begins. The leaven is ready for use!

You can also prepare a hop starter. To do this, cones of hop should be filled with water and boiled for about an hour. After this, cool the broth, strain, add flour, sugar and set aside in a warm place. After 1.5 days add to the broth grated boiled potatoes and after a day the leaven will be ready.
