Fluoridation of infant teeth

One of the most common errors of parents is untimely treatment of baby teeth. Children's teeth can be treated and needed and in the care they need even more than adults.

What is the need for fluoridation of teeth in children?

This procedure allows for a long time to provide reliable protection against tooth decay and other troubles. When fluorinating baby teeth, a special layer is created on the surface, which significantly exceeds the strength of the tooth and does not allow the calcium to quickly wash out of the dental tissues.

Procedure of fluoridation or silvering of milk teeth is indicated for children with sensitive teeth. This allows to strengthen the natural protection of enamel due to fluorine, calcium and phosphorus in the composition of a special paste.

Types of tooth fluoridation in children

There are two main ways to perform this procedure.

  1. The first method is called simple. First, the doctor makes a cast of the patient's teeth. After this, the mold is filled with fluoride and put on the teeth. The second method involves the use of a special lacquer. The second option is less effective, since calcium fluoride is not deposited in the deep layers of the enamel, therefore it is scraped off after each tooth brushing.
  2. The second method involves a deep fluoridation of teeth in children. In this case, fluorine penetrates deep into the enamel layers and holds there, making the tooth ten times stronger. Deep fluoridation of milk teeth is carried out in several stages. First, the doctor with special equipment cleans teeth and interdental space and dries them with a warm air flow. Then the teeth are treated with molochkom hydroxide of copper and calcium, rinsed with water. With deep fluoridation of milk teeth, the concentration of ions produced by calcium fluoride crystals is five times higher than the concentration after simple fluorination.

The result of fluoridation of milk teeth

After this procedure, the hardness of the tooth enamel is increased by a factor of ten, so the risk of tooth decay or tooth sensitivity is significantly reduced. The complex of preventive measures is designed for six months. A small patient visits the doctor only once. As a result, we have the following:
