How to make a katana from paper - a master class

It will take:

If you decide to make a katana, then you need to know that its length should be at least 60 cm. Based on this, and should calculate the size of the details (blades and handles).

1st method

We cut 5 rectangles from a corrugated cardboard in width of 5-7 sm and necessary to us in length. In this case, pay attention to the location of wavy strips (this is necessary to give firmness to our blade). We make 2 parts with a vertical direction of them, and 3 - with a horizontal direction. We arrange the details as shown in the figure, where the yellow lines indicate how the internal waves should be located.

  1. We glue them together. So that they are more firmly connected, it is better to put them under the load for several hours.
  2. On the one hand we draw the sword shape according to the sketch that we have and cut it out.
  3. Lubricate the sides, where the corrugation is visible, with carpentry glue. You will need to make at least 2 layers. Let it dry for 10-12 hours.
  4. After that, we cover the part that should be a blade, silver paint, and the handle - in black, and then on it we draw rhombs and a border.
  5. Our katana is made of paper. The truth is very similar to the real?

You can do it a little differently.

2nd method

In addition to these materials, we will also need a black insulating tape.

Progress:

  1. We cut out 3 details according to the prepared template. The handle should be slightly wider than the blade.
  2. Cut out the extra 2 parts of the handle (they should be a little narrower and shorter than she is). We paste from different sides on the handle.
  3. Cut out a rectangle from the corrugated cardboard and make a hole in it to pass the part that will be the blade. The finished part is put on the workpiece.
  4. We paint the narrower part with silver paint.
  5. We glue the handle with strips of electrical tape in a spiral, to get the same pattern as in the picture. Separate the partition into black.

Now you can play in the samurai.
