No one is immune from manifestations of ischialgic syndrome, which occurs for various reasons due to sciatica nerve inflammation. This pathology is very unpleasant and practically deprives the person of the opportunity to lead a normal life. This is due to the way the sciatica manifests itself - the symptoms and treatment of the disease are accompanied by intense pain sensations, the need to completely change the regime of the day and physical activity.
Symptoms of sciatica
The main characteristic feature of the ischialgic syndrome is severe pain in the buttocks region, which gives back, hip, thigh and even foot. As a rule, discomfort is felt only on one side, has a different character - from aching to burning.
Other clinical manifestations:
- lumbago ;
- decreased sensitivity in the pain zone;
- muscle tension of buttocks, lower back, lower limbs;
- tingling on the skin;
- disorder of motor activity, from lameness up to total inability to walk;
- incontinence of feces, urine (with severe forms).
How to treat ischialgia?
First and foremost, therapy is based on the removal of the inflammatory process, arresting the pain syndrome and restoring motor activity.
It is worth noting that tableted forms of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs with anesthetic effect are not recommended, since they act weakly. It is much more preferable to treat sciatica with injections:
- Movalis;
- Diclofenac;
- Midokalm ;
- Ketorol;
- Ketorolac.
Also, ointments with ibuprofen, indomethacin, diclofenac in the composition are not bad.
It is also important to strengthen the body, for which B vitamins, micronutrient complexes, a diet rich in nutrients are prescribed.
Restoration of motor activity is made at the expense of reflexo- and physiotherapy, therapeutic physical training.
