Kanzashi Crown

No New Year's party does not do without charming princesses in luxurious dresses. An inseparable attribute of this costume is the crown. The easiest way to acquire this accessory is to purchase children's goods at a nearby store. But such a crown is not the limit of dreams. Usually they are made of plastic, and the ornament is feathers or lace. Accessories without a "zest" - not your option? Then we offer you a master class, which will tell you how to make a crown in Kansas technique from petals for the image of a snowflake or a princess for the New Year.

We will need:

  1. I use two types of satin ribbons, braid the bezel, which will serve as the basis of the crown in Kansas technique. Ensure that the ribbons are intertwined in staggered order, and the distances between the turns are the same.
  2. Cut from the satin and guipure tape 5 cm wide by eleven squares of 5x5 cm. From a narrow guipure tape, make 5-7 squares of dimensions 2х2 cm.
  3. To make a petal of Kanzash, take a large square, bend it diagonally and fasten the corners with a cigarette lighter. Similarly, fasten the second guipure square. Then put them on top of each other, moving the corners, and fold the petal. Cut off the corner and fasten it with the lighter. From the back of the petal, cut off the protruding part.
  4. Small petals are made in the same way, but this work is more convenient to do with tweezers. To make the crown, we need 11 large and 7 small petals.
  5. Select five large petals, glue them with hot glue. Then mark on the hoop the center, grease it gently with glue and attach the resulting part.
  6. Next, you need to paste the remaining large petals on both sides of the central flower.
  7. On a piece of ribbon measuring 1x1 cm, paste seven small petals in the form of a flower. In the center of a small flower, glue a beautiful bead or heart. Since this element of the crown is located in its central part, you can choose an ornament for the color of the dress. Then fix the flower in the center of a large flower.
  8. Our crown in Kansas technique is ready, but it needs to be decorated. For this you can use a variety of accessories. In our case, selected thin stamens with balls at the ends and beads with a flat base. Take three stamens, try them on the crown, so they are not too long. Then, with hot glue, fasten them in a bunch of three stamens. We need two such bouquets. Gently, so as not to stain the crown, apply the glue to the base of the bunches and fix them between the petals. Make sure that they are located symmetrically. When the glue dries, proceed to pasting the beads. We recommend placing them on the joints of the petals. This will help to hide the small defects that could get in the process of work. Wait for the glue to dry out, and an elegant crown for a snowflake or princess costume for a New Year party in the garden, the school is ready!

If the reverse side of the crown does not suit you with its appearance, it can be hidden under a narrow strip of cardboard or a satin ribbon of similar color.

The little princess will certainly thank you for the hard work, and the crown, made with her own hands in the old Kansas technique, will be an excellent addition to the holiday party.

Also, a beautiful crown can be made from beads and simply made of paper .
