Each of us at hand is an invaluable material for the creation of real works of art. It's about the eggshell. It turns out that by its hardness it approaches the marble, and it is incredibly difficult to scratch with a knife.
Accordingly, the egg shell mosaic, the so-called "krakla", is very resistant to any damage. In the eastern lacquer painting, using an egg shell, stone steles, rocks and flowering gardens were depicted. Craquelure from the egg shell makes it possible to create works reminiscent of ancient paintings with a cracked layer of lacquer.
Today, the egg shell is rare, and from that more interesting material for decoration. Work with such an affordable and inexpensive material can be done with children, at the same time they conduct fascinating lessons in creative development.
How to create a mosaic of eggshell?
So, to create a mosaic of eggshell, you will need: a base (cardboard, thick paper), a pencil, PVA glue, glue brushes, paints, tweezers, office knife, nazhdachka, varnish and, of course, eggshells (unimportant, boiled or raw) .
You can get colored shells in three ways:
- You can boil the eggs in the dye you need (as we usually do on Easter);
- You can paint each egg in the right color with ordinary acrylic paints (of course, beforehand in the egg, a small cleavage is made, through which the contents are removed), before the egg is broken;
- It is possible to paint independently each shell in the process of creating a mosaic (a more economical method, but requiring time and accuracy).
We process the surface.
The first step is to prepare the surface on which the work will be created. If you are using not a sheet of cardboard, but some finished product, its surface should be sanded and primed, and then covered with the paint of the desired color. With a thin pencil, the contour of the desired pattern is applied to the surface.
We clean and grind the shell.
Then you need to remove the film from the inside of the eggs, put the shell between two sheets of thin paper and stretch it with a rolling pin. It is advisable not to overdo it, otherwise the fragments will be too small, and they will be difficult to glue. But to leave very large pieces, too, is not worth it - they look ugly.
We collect mosaic
The very first are selected large pieces. On the previously glued area of the picture with tweezers, the shell is applied. It is desirable that between each piece was as little free space as possible so that each piece fits perfectly into the mosaic. In order to fix a piece of shell, you can use a stationery knife.
Mosaic is not collected at once, the more carefully the pieces of shell are selected, the better will be the final result.
Decoration of bottles with eggshell
Decoration with an egg shell can give a second life to any object: from the flower pot to the surface of the fireplace. The decor of the eggshell has become especially popular recently, in connection with the distribution of master classes on hand-maedu. One of the most popular topics of such classes is the decor of the bottles with an egg shell. The process of decapping an egg shell on a glass non-planar surface has its differences from the process of creating a mosaic on an even and oshkurennoy surface:
- The bottle needs to be thoroughly cleaned and degreased;
- For better adhesion of the shell to the surface a napkin is used: first one layer of napkin is separated and glued to the bottle. Then the shell is glued to this layer.
- On the layer of the dried shell, we must apply one more separated layer of napkin - so the pieces will not scratch, ride on the glass and crumble.
- After all has dried, a layer of soil is applied and the work is painted.
- After that, usual decoupage is carried out with colored napkins.
- After decoupage napkins work is allowed to dry for a day.
- The last stage is the application of lacquer.
