Spasm of smooth muscles accompanies many diseases of the internal organs, and therefore the relief of pain of this origin is quite an urgent task. To date, pharmacology offers antispasmodics of two categories, designed to combat abdominal pain syndrome, that is, pain in the abdomen.
Classification of spasmolytic drugs
Medications that relieve muscle spasms are classified according to their origin by:
- Artificial, supplied by the pharmaceutical industry;
- Natural, which include plants such as ayr marsh, lovage, chamomile, oregano , belladonna, mint, black henna, etc.
Spasmolytic drugs of artificial origin in turn are divided into myotropic and neurotropic drugs - the mechanism of action of these two groups is radically different.
Myotropic antispasmodics
Such drugs affect the cells with which the smooth muscles of the organs are lined, and reduce the concentration of calcium ions, as well as accumulate inside the cell cyclic adenosine monophosphate, responsible for signal transmission in it. The drugs have vasoconstrictive and spasmolytic effects, and the main advantage of this group of drugs is the possibility of using them for patients of all ages.
Among the myotropic antispasmodics include funds, the basis of which is:
- drotaverin (all known No-shpa );
- papaverine;
- bicyclan;
- gimecromone;
- bendazole;
- halidor;
- isosorbide dinitrate;
- mebeverin;
- nitroglycerine;
- pinaverium bromide;
- otilonium bromide;
- gimecromone.
Preparations with such active substances are released, usually in the form of tablets, but also solutions for injections in ampoules and rectal suppositories.
Neurotrophic antispasmodics
Means from this group prevent the transfer of impulses to the nerves, which are assigned the function of stimulating the tissue of this or that organ. The most common neurotropic antispasmodics are drugs based on M-holinoblokatorov:
- platyphylline;
- atropine sulfate;
- hyoosylamine;
- prinfinium bromide;
- Difacil;
- hyoosylamine;
- buskapan and others.
Use of antispasmodics
The removal of pain caused by involuntary contraction of smooth muscles is necessary for chronic gastroduodenitis, ulcer, renal colic, cholelithiasis, dyskinesia of the gallbladder and ducts, cerebral blood flow disorders, etc. In each case, the doctor chooses the most effective antispasmodic. But No-shpu can be taken with headache and PMS without fear, but if the drug does not help, you need the help of a doctor.
