String beans - how to grow in the country?

It's hard to believe, but until recently, the string beans were one of the wonders of "overseas" life for our compatriots.   1. Step 1 - choose a place for landing . String beans belong to those wonderful plants, for the cultivation of which almost any soil is suitable. It will equally well feel on sandy areas, and on loams, not to mention the nutrient chernozems. The only requirement is that the acidity of the soil should be low. It is better to divide the bed for asparagus beans in a well-lit and sheltered place from a strong wind. For curly bean varieties it will also be necessary to provide a reliable support, no less than 2-2.5 meters in height.
  2. Step 2 - prepare the garden . Preparatory works begin in autumn with digging beds with careful selection of weeds and simultaneous application of fertilizers: for 1 square meter about 5-7 kg of organic, 20 grams of potassium chloride and 35-40 grams of superphosphate. Immediately before planting beans, the land will need to be further enriched with potassium.
  3. Step 3 - we carry out preplant seed preparation . To accelerate the germination, bean seeds must be kept in warm water for several hours before planting.
  4. Step 4 - we plant the beans in the open ground . There are many ways to plant a string bean at a dacha. For example, it is most convenient to plant its curly varieties in a semicircle near several huts installed enough thick branches. Alternatively, you can plant a real hedge from it, sowing near the poles around the perimeter of the site. For the planting of bush beans, the most commonly used scheme is 10x30 cm, maintaining a gap of 8-10 cm between plants and 30 cm between rows. In the ground the seeds should be buried no more than 3-4 cm.
  5. Step 5 - take care of the crops . Care for asparagus beans includes regular watering, loosening and mulching the land on beds. These simple procedures will be enough to get an abundant and healthy harvest.
