Treatment after abortion

Often after an abortion, a woman is susceptible to numerous infections, whose treatment, as a rule, is carried out in a hospital. In this case, everything depends on the severity of the disease and its specificity.

Every doctor who conducts an abortion must make sure that there is no residual tissue in the uterus. An examination is also performed if the doctor suspects of incomplete, spontaneous abortion, or the woman's self-medication abortion, the treatment after which is to vacuum the remainder of the fetal tissues.

Complications

Very often after an abortion, the patient's condition worsens greatly. Thus the woman marks the general delicacy, against a background of low arterial pressure that can be connected with a hemorrhage. In this case, it is better to contact a doctor who will prescribe the treatment after the abortion.

Treatment

If, during an abortion, an infection has entered the woman's body that led to the development of a paramete or salpingitis , then the woman is subject to urgent hospitalization. In this case, treatment after interrupted pregnancy is reduced to infusion antibiotic therapy and immediate removal of the remains of the fetal tissue from the cavity, which is the focus of infection. Vacuum aspiration is used. Antibiotic therapy continues until the woman's condition improves, that is, when the body temperature keeps at a normal level during the last 24 hours.

If the infection is insignificant, there are no signs of residual tissue in the uterine cavity, then a woman may confine herself to taking antibacterial drugs inside. If for 2-3 days the condition significantly improves (the intensity of pain decreases, the body temperature returns to normal), a woman may not undergo curettage.
