This flower is in one place for a long time (12-15 years), gradually increasing the size of the bush. In this case, the heads of its colors will become less and less. At the same time this will be one of the ways of its multiplication, since it can be divided into several parts.

How to transplant the daylily in the spring?

This should be started in the middle of spring (the end of April - the first half of May), after the earth gets warm enough and it will be easy to dig, as it will be necessary to dig up the rhizome of the whole bush. After that, the roots will need to be examined if it is required to divide into parts, and then shorten them to 15 cm.

When transplanting the well for the daylily should be fertilized, and after falling asleep by the soil - it is good to pour water to get rid of the remaining air between the roots. Diapers with a large root system, transplanted in the spring, will begin to bloom in the same year, and with a small one - only in the next.

How to transplant a blooming daylily in the summer?

If you really need to transfer the daylily from one place of the front garden to another during flowering, then this can be done without fear that it will die. The only thing that does not happen in this case is to injure the root system once again (cut and divide). It will be enough just to remove the decayed parts, and then sprinkle the slices with ashes.

After a transplant within a month, the daylily should be provided with regular watering, loosening of the soil around the base and removing the weeds around it.

When to transplant the daylilies in the fall?

The most important thing in the autumn transplant is the daylily, so that it can take root before the onset of frost. That is why it is recommended to hold this event until the middle of October, but many Latvian varieties can be planted later - until mid-November.

In the warm season, the transplant should be carried out in the evening, and in the autumn - in the afternoon.
