X-ray examination

X-ray examination or radiography is the study of the internal structure of organs, joints and bones with the help of appropriate rays projected onto special paper and film. Most often this term is used in conjunction with a medical non-invasive study. The procedure is convenient, since literally within a few minutes it is able to show the current state of the necessary part of the body from the inside.

X-ray methods of research

Modern medicine offers two basic types of research with the help of roentgenology: general and special. The first ones are:

Special studies are presented by a wide range of methods, with which you can solve various diagnostic problems. They are divided into invasive and non-invasive. The first involve the introduction of special equipment in different cavities (vessels, esophagus and others) for conducting procedures for diagnosis. The latter exclude the placement of instruments inside the body.

All methods have certain advantages and disadvantages. Without this study, it is impossible to accurately establish a diagnosis in more than 50% of cases.

Types of X-ray studies

There are several main divisions of radiography. During the procedure, you can take pictures:

In some cases, a mammogram is prescribed. Often, experts direct many people to the radiographic examination of the stomach and kidneys. It's the only way to get all the necessary information about the state of these organs.

With the development of computer technologies, other areas that are involved in human activities are improving. So, for example, most laboratories where such studies are conducted can not only provide the images they received, but also record all the necessary information on a CD. This will save the data much longer than on regular film and paper.

Preparation for X-ray examination

Before creating a picture of joints, bones or muscles, no special preparation is required. But when radiographing the organs of the esophagus, you must follow a special diet the day before the procedure. It consists of lean food, without beans and sweet. On the day before the procedure, it is desirable not to eat anything.
