Cake "Potato" according to GOST USSR - recipe

Cake "Potato" is one of the most favorite delicacies of children of the Soviet era. In those days they were prepared according to a special GOST of the USSR and had an incomparable taste. Meet now in the confectionery department at least remotely reminiscent of the same taste is almost impossible. But to cook the same at home is quite possible. And it's not difficult at all. The main thing is to choose high-quality and natural products for making cakes and perform several simple actions, following the recommendations from our recipe below.

Preparation

The first step is to prepare a biscuit, which will be the basis for our cakes. To do this, accurately separate the proteins from the yolks and break them until a thick and thick white foam, gradually pouring fifty grams of granulated sugar.

Then rub the yolks with the remaining sugar and also beat until lightening. Then we sift the flour and starch into a yolk mass, mix until a homogeneous consistency is obtained and introduce a small, lush mass in small portions, mixing it gently with movements from the bottom to the top. The finished dough should turn out to be airy, not flowing and slowly slipping off the spoon.

We transfer the received mass in the oiled form and we define in the oven heated up to 180 degrees for fifty minutes. You can also use to prepare a biscuit with a multivariate, setting it to the "Baking" mode for one hour.

We remove the finished biscuit from the mold and leave it at room temperature for a minimum of twelve hours. Then grind it into a very fine crumb with a blender or combine.

To prepare the cream, combine the soft butter with the sugar and beat it a little with a mixer. Then we introduce into the mass condensed milk and two drops of rum essence and again whisk until fluffy, uniform and smooth.

Very little cream is left for decoration, and the rest is combined with cooked biscuit crumbs and mix well.

We form from the received mass cakes, giving them the form of potato tubers, we pan in a mixture of cocoa powder and powdered sugar and stack on a dish.

We make on top of each product several depressions and we plant in them a cream in the form of sprouts of potatoes.
