Dracaena - Species

This plant is one of the most popular among the rooms. Almost all of its varieties of dracaena are very similar to palm trees and grow to quite impressive sizes. For the decorative qualities it is valued by flower growers and used by designers to decorate the interior.

Dracaena: types and names

1. Canary . Among the varieties of dracaena this is very large in size in natural conditions. It can grow up to 18 m, and the circumference of the trunk reaches about 5 m. The plant is often called a "dragon tree." He has a very hard fat trunk that accumulates water. The leaves have a greenish-gray color, are located at the ends of the branches in the form of beams.
2. Edged . Of the varieties of the dracaena flower, this differs by the presence of a contrasting rim along the contour of the leaves. Most often you can meet the draceni Marginata . The color of the rim varies from red-violet to yellow. The leaves of the plant are narrow and fairly long, can reach about 70cm. Blooms this species at home very rarely. Its decorative qualities show in a few years. The lower leaves begin to turn yellow and fall off, and as a result, dense bundles of leaves form at the ends of the branches.
3. Fragrant . Among the Dracaena species, these houseplants are most diverse in color shades, leaf length and band color. As for the size, that is, low-growing varieties up to 20 cm, and there are high ones up to one and a half meters in length. The leaves are more arcuate, curved, they are slightly wider.
4. Derehma . It can grow up to three meters in height. The trunk is thick, lignified and often branching, with dense foliage. When the lower leaves fade and fall, there are clear marks on the trunk, which gives a unique pattern. The leaves reach 50cm in length and 5cm in width. In young plants, they stick out, and in older adults begin to droop. Among the most common varieties can be called Warneckii and Lemon Lime.
5. Sander . The most recognizable among all types of dracaena. In the flower shops on it you will find a label with the inscription "bamboo tree" or "lucky bamboo". The plant is short, its stem is thin and dense. The leaves themselves are slightly curved, green with white or silver stripes, they meet with a dark green border.
6. Released . This plant grows very slowly. Among all types of room dracen this is especially whimsical, demanding in care. A straight trunk can grow up to 3 m. All adult plants must necessarily have support. Dracaena reflexa has arrow-shaped and very mottled leaves, with a yellow strip to everything edge. Song of India is very popular. He has a darker, more saturated color of leaves and a light strip.
7. Dracena Godzhef . This is a strongly branched, low shrub which is rare. The stems are thin cow-like in the scaly scales. Leaves are leathery, pointed at the ends, covered with white spots.
8. Dracaena is treelike . Among the varieties of dracene, this has the most suitable decorative qualities, more so for large-leaf varieties. The leaves have a belt-like shape, fairly wide in the middle, strong. The base plate is wavy.
9. Dracena Hooker . It has varieties for both indoor and garden cultivation. Of all kinds of dracaena this one is suitable for warm greenhouses. Leaves have a xiphoid shape, leathery. Can reach up to 80cm in length, wavy at the base and tapering at the ends.
