European manicure

Our mothers and grandmothers always did only a classic manicure with the obligatory preliminary steaming of the skin of the hand and cutting the cuticle. Today, this method is considered obsolete and dangerous. To replace it came the so-called European manicure, which was originally born in Europe, and now has become quite popular with us.

The main difference between the classic manicure and the European one is the use of scissors or special tweezers to cut a rough cuticle. European same manicure does not involve the removal of the cuticle with the help of any cutting tools.

Types of European unedged manicure

To date, there are two types of European manicure:

  1. Manicure using water in the form of a bath with a special solution, which contains fruit or lactic acids, gently exfoliating the upper layer of the cuticle.
  2. Dry European manicure , in the course of which to soften the cuticle used special compositions, applied with a brush like a normal nail polish.

Most often in beauty salons and SPA-centers provide a service for dry manicure, and from the use of trays with solutions of various acids gradually go away, as this process is considered more traumatic and dangerous for the skin of hands and the surface of the nails.

Technology of European manicure

The technology of the European manicure involves the following steps:

  1. First of all, you need to remove the old decorative varnish from the nails, using for this liquid with a soft formula without acetone.
  2. Next, it should be very carefully applied to the cuticle a special gel or cream to remove so that it does not hit the nail. Such drugs have a fairly aggressive composition, which allows them to effectively "dissolve" the dead skin cells of the cuticle. After 1-5 minutes, the gel or cream should be wiped off with a soft cloth. The exposure time of such a remedy should be indicated in the enclosed instructions.
  3. Then carefully remove the cuticle skin to the nail bed. Do it best with a thin stick with a bevelled tip made of orange wood or high-quality rubber. If the cuticle is very hard, then you can use a special pumice stone for a European manicure, which has a rather rough, but, at the same time, soft surface. This allows you to "clean" the upper layer of the cuticle and make it softer.
  4. Next, you need to give the nail the necessary shape, using the nail file.
  5. The next step in the performance of a quality European manicure is applying a softening cream or lotion to the cuticle and nail. If you want and the availability of free time, you can make a nourishing hand mask, and afterwards apply a cream.
  6. In the end, you should polish the nails with a piece of special tissue or a soft nail file. If you need to apply a decorative varnish on your nails, you should first degrease them and cover them with a protective base with a nutritious and firming composition.
