Fountain description

Samson is an octagonal fountain in the center of the carriageway in the Old City of Bern. In the middle of the fountain a column rises, on which is installed the sculpture of "biblical Hercules" - Samson, which is depicted as tearing the jaws of the lion. The sculpture was created to show courage, strength and courage, which in those years was the goal for every man.
