Grapes Velez

Grapes of kishmish variety Velez is known not so long ago. It was distributed in 2009 thanks to the breeder from Ukraine V. Zagorulko. Veles was the result of crossing such varieties as Sofia and Rusbol and in a short period of growth he found his admirers among wine growers.

Characteristics of the Velez grape variety

Veles grapes belong to the group of seedless varieties, but it is still included in the fourth category, characterized by the greatest number of seed rudiments, the so-called rudiments. Bisexual plant flowers promote good pollination. Velez grape variety ripens very early - on average over 100 days, which allows you to enjoy its fruits in early August. Bunches are perfectly preserved on the bushes for one and a half months. In the continuation of the description of the Velez grape variety it is worth mentioning that in 2010 at the competition in Simferopol this hybrid was awarded two gold medals from the people's and professional tasting commissions.

External description of the Velez grape variety

If you touch the external description, Velez grapes impress with the size of the bunches - they can grow up to 2-3 kg. The conical shape of medium-dense bunches and their pink transparent color give the grapes a certain elegance. The berries themselves are also quite large, each weighing an average of 4-5 g. The structure of the flesh of the berries is dense, transparent, with a taste of muscat, with a tender skin that is not strongly felt when consumed.

Growth conditions of Vele grapes

To the positive characteristics of the variety Veles is frost resistance, comparable with the frost resistance of other popular varieties. The plant survives frost without effects -21 ° C. However, shelter for the winter with a film of bushes does not hurt. Such a factor as excessive humidity during fruiting can adversely affect the yield, there are cases when the berries cracked and rotted. Variety of grapes kishmish Velez requires an average spring pruning up to six eyes. At the stage of fruit ripening in the vine bushes, stepchildren are formed, which also yield a crop, although later, by the middle of autumn. With regard to the resistance of the variety to the most common and dangerous diseases of oidium and mildew, at the moment it is estimated at 3.5 points, this issue continues to be studied. It has also been established that the Velez variety tolerates transportation well and is well kept.
