This term originated from the Latin word actualis, which in Russian means "real, real". We will consider the problem of self-actualization of personality and features characteristic of people engaged in self-actualization.
Self-actualization and self-improvement of personality
Some researchers, among whom it is possible to list Kurt Goldstein, believed that it is the correct self-awareness and self-actualization of the individual that is the strongest of all the needs of a living person who can compete even with the needs for water, food and sleep. Today, self-actualization is rather a lifestyle that is characteristic of the most active and successful, those who decided to use all their resources as much as possible.
According to the theory of K. Rogers, in the human psyche, two trends can be identified, given at birth. The first, self-actualizing tendency is the makings, the future properties of man; the second, an "organismic tracking process," is control over one's own development. It is on the basis of these two trends that a unique personality is formed, including the "real self" and the "ideal self." Between them there can be a different attitude - from the maximum harmony to complete disharmony.
In this theory self-realization and self-actualization of personality are closely related. Self-actualization appears as a process of disclosing one's own potential, which makes it possible to become a person using all possibilities. In the process of achieving the goal, people live an incredibly rich, interesting life, which is filled with search, work on themselves and amazing results. Such a person lives existentially, enjoying every minute here and now.
