How to make a leather belt with your own hands?
- When starting to work, measure the waist volume and accordingly, think about exactly what length your belt should be. Or you can measure the length of another, already available belt.
- In the photo you see all the necessary tools that will be useful for work.
- From a solid piece of natural or artificial leather, cut a strip of the necessary length and width. Use a sharp knife to do this. Measure out the angle of 90 °, so that both ends of the belt are straight. Also prepare the accessories: buckle and rivets.
- If you have a belt that you would like to take as a model, measure out the distance on which to make holes and insert rivets. Use the pencil or marker to select the desired contours. Use a hole punch for the skin to make a hole in the belt in the future.
- On the other hand, attach the buckle by wrapping the flat end of the strap in a loop and fixing it with two rivets. With these special tools, make the shaped edge of the belt. If not, use a regular construction knife. In order for the belt to be convenient to use, it is necessary to make a so-called harness. Prepare a thin strip of skin and place it inside the loop.
- Fix it with a rivet. Raise the strap around the entire length. Skin can be given a darker shade with the help of strongly brewed coffee.
- Saturate the belt with a cloth dampened in coffee.
- Then, to complete the work, dry the product with a hairdryer.
This option of making an accessory is easier than making belts with your own hands, but the result of your work will look like a real corporate belt.
