That's why young parents are recommended to introduce their child to the Chinese game Go, understand the rules which will not be difficult even for the younger student.

The rules of the game in Go for beginners

To play Go, you need a special board size 19x19 lines, as well as black and white stones for the implementation of game moves. This fun involves the participation of two players who, using lots determine which of them will get the chips of white and black.

In this case, the first move is always made by the owner of the black pebbles, which exposes one of them to any point of intersection of the lines. You can do this without any restrictions, you can put your checker on any free point, including side and corner.

In the future, the moves are carried out in turn. In this case, stones that were previously placed on the playing field, do not move anywhere and remain in their place until the very end of the game or until they are "eaten" by the enemy.

Each chip, standing on the playing field, has up to 4 degrees of freedom, or "dame". By this notion we mean points located at the top, bottom, left and right, namely:

According to the rules, all the checkers in Go's game remain on the field until they have at least one degree of freedom. If all the free points, located vertically and horizontally from one or a group of stones, are closed, from that moment they are considered captured. In this case, such checkers are removed from the playing field and no more participation in the game is accepted. In turn, a player who managed to capture one or more of the opponent's chips receives the appropriate number of points.

The following example will help you understand the game:

Crosses here are marked points, in which you need to walk the owner of black stones to capture the opponent's checkers. Zero - similar points for whites. Triangles highlighted stones that have only one degree of freedom, that is, those that can be captured as a result of one move.

Board game Go is completed according to the following rules: the player who does not see any opportunities to make a move, says "pass" and passes the move to the opponent. If the second participant can take any action, he has the right to make a move. Otherwise, this player also folds, after which points are counted.

In addition to points for "eaten" chips, participants receive a certain number of points for the seizure of the territory. It means an area that can not be disputed. In this case, each player receives one point for each point of intersection of lines located on his own territory.

To understand how the territory is determined, the following diagram will help you:

In this picture, the territory of black is marked with crosses, and the white with noices.
