The vessel in the eye burst - treatment

If you have a blood vessel in your eye, do not rush to seek emergency treatment. First it is necessary to understand the reasons for this phenomenon. Most often, there is no serious danger, but nevertheless it is necessary to pay attention to one's own health. Especially if the redness of the eyes is repeated often or does not pass at all. An ophthalmic hemorrhage may look like a stain or as a red thread in the eye, because the conjunctiva keeps the blood flowing outwards.

Why did the vessels explode in the eye?

Let's take a closer look at the causes that lead to such a disturbing defect:

  1. Lifting weights, as well as, in general, physical overstrain often lead to subconjunctival bleeding. Often reddened eyes are observed in athletes. Often, the cases of lobing vessels and during childbirth - after all, the physical work of a woman at this time is equated to the strongest load. Especially, if the tightening period is wrong and the woman is pushing "into the head".
  2. People who suffer from hypertension often note that they burst blood vessels in the eyes without the slightest physical exertion. This is due to high blood pressure, which increases blood circulation.
  3. One of the symptoms of diabetes is also hemorrhages in the eyes. If the phenomenon repeats itself for no apparent reason, it is worth turning to the endocrinologist for the timely detection of the disease.
  4. Ophthalmic diseases, such as conjunctivitis or angiopathy of the retina, are also accompanied by the appearance of an unpleasant defect.
  5. Injuries. This reason does not require an explanation, since in this the rupture of the vessel in the eye is equated with a bruise.
  6. Long-term work at the computer, lack of sleep, alcohol abuse and other overworking effects can also cause red blood vessels on the eyes.
  7. Severe stress or neurosis.
  8. Sharp change of temperatures (for example, in a bath).
  9. Smoke from a fire or cigarettes indoors.

What should I do if the vessel bursts?

Easy ways of self-help can remove unpleasant symptoms and return the whiteness to eye sclera. If there is no obvious reason for what happened, you must first give your eyes a rest. And preferably in a prone position in total darkness. Other ways will also help, more about which we will discuss below:

  1. Ideal option will be a long sleep. Especially if the blood vessels burst due to overwork of the body or a stressful situation.
  2. The next step will be the acceleration of getting rid of the red blood vessels in the eyes. If there is no serious concomitant disease, the reddening will pass by itself. The only thing that can happen is long enough, up to two weeks. If you are concerned about the appearance of the eye, and you do not want to wait that long, you can try to speed up the process.
  3. A good and affordable remedy is plain black tea without additives. In a cup with warm brewing, you need to dip two wadded disk, and then, slightly squeeze, place on the upper eyelids and lie down. Such lotions are held for several minutes, preferably several times a day. Instead of tea, you can use a decoction or infusion of chamomile.
  4. Another method of treating the vessels of the eyes after a hemorrhage will be contrasting eyebaths. Two comfortable vessels filled with water - one cold, and the other hot. Eyes alternately drop into one and the other tray, but only eye contact with cold water should be minimal.

As prevention from the dilated blood vessels of the eyes, vitamins of group A are used. You can buy vitamins in a pharmacy or remember that they are contained in Bulgarian pepper, carrots, apricots and dried apricots, bilberries, garlic, broccoli, seaweed and cottage cheese.
