Verapamil analogues

Verapamil is a drug that is sold in the form of tablets coated with a film coating or in the form of a tablet weighing 40 or 80 g. Verapamil prolonged action is sold in a package called Verapamil 240, and, as a rule, its analogs have a similar principle of action. Such drugs are prescribed in the form of injections with:

Drug Action of Verapamil and Its Analogues

Verapamil in the composition of all listed structural similar preparations causes the expansion of the coronary arteries and arterioles in normal and areas of the heart muscle, where the blood supply is reduced due to pathological constriction. The action of drugs inhibits spasm of the coronary vessels, thus improving the blood supply to the heart muscle.

Verapamil and its analogs do not allow calcium ions to pass through the cell membranes, which leads to a decrease in the heart rate and a decrease in the total peripheral resistance of the vessels. Thus, the load on the cardiac muscle is significantly reduced and its blood supply increases. Active substance verapamil reduces myocardial need in oxygen.

How should I take Verapamil and its analogues?

Tablets Verapamil and its analogs are taken during meals or immediately after meals, without chewing swallowing and washing down with water.

Before using drugs, you need to make sure that there are no concomitant diseases, since the list of contraindications is quite large. It is also not recommended to take Verapamil and similar drugs during pregnancy and lactation.
