Figs (another name fig or fig) - an extremely tasty and useful fruit of a woody perennial plant deciduous ficus, which grows and is cultivated in subtropical latitudes. Regular consumption of figs in food especially contributes to good digestion and the work of the respiratory system. Figs are consumed in different types: fresh, canned and dried. The bulk of the population in the post-Soviet space is familiar with dried figs. Our recipes are cookies with figs in the form of dried fruits. Therefore, in any case, before grinding the figs and laying it in the pastry dough, steal the fruits with boiling water for 10, then drain the water.

We pour oat flakes with slightly warm milk and wait until they swell and soften. Add the egg, rum, chopped figs and crushed almond kernels (or nuts) to the bowl with flakes. We mix and gradually mix the flour, as much as necessary, so that the dough does not turn out to be too liquid.

Roll out the dough is not too thin layer, with the help of a glass or punching form we make pechenyushki. Spread them on a greased baking sheet (or better to lay it with oiled parchment paper). Bake in the oven until ready, which can be judged by browning and pleasant aroma (about 15-25 minutes).

In the basic composition of useful cookies with figs, you can include a mixture of cocoa powder with sugar (ratio 1: 1, that is, 1 tablespoon + pinch of cinnamon or vanilla, but not together). Do not include in the composition a lot of sugar - it is not useful, and do not include honey , because when heated, it forms harmful substances.

To bake a curd cookie with a fig, add about 150 grams of natural curds of medium fat to the dough prepared according to the basic recipe. Also add one more egg. Density of the dough is adjusted with flour.

Italian biscuits with figs

In Italy, biscuits with figs are usually baked for Christmas. In each area there are their own recipes, here is one of them.

Mix sugar with butter, add egg, chopped nuts, sifted flour, soda, vanilla and liquor. We knead the dough (you can mixer at low speed), do not knead it for a long time. Let's test the "rest" let it stay in the refrigerator for 40 minutes.

We roll out a thin layer from the distended dough and form pechenyushki with the help of a punching mold or a glass. We spread them on a pan covered with oiled baking paper and bake until cooked in the oven (about 25-30 minutes).

Cookies with figs can be stored in a paper bag, in a cardboard box, in wicker containers.

Serve cookies with figs for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon snack with coffee, tea, rooibos, karkade and other similar drinks.
