Decoupage of shoes

Decoupage of shoes is most often used to update old shoes or sandals. Shoes in which you comfortable, a little worn out and you want to restore it? This is easily achieved by applying this universal technique.

Consider a master class on decoupage on shoes using white ballet.

Decoupage of old shoes with their own hands

  1. Prepare all the materials you need to work: a decoupage napkin, special glue and varnish, decorative elements and, of course, shoes themselves. Do not forget about the little things: you need a soft synthetic brush and an adhesive thermo gun.
  2. That's what the old battered ballet shoes made of artificial leather look like. Our task is to transform this footwear beyond recognition. First you should wash them well with soap and dry properly.
  3. Prepare the acrylic paint of the desired color. Ballet flats from us are originally white, but not white, so add a little gray shades and carefully stir the paint. Gently paint all the scrapes.
  4. As a result, they should become almost invisible. Wait until the paint dries naturally or dry it with a hair dryer.
  5. Now you need glue for decoupage on textiles or leather (depending on the source material). Prepare a tissue motif (separate the top layer with a pattern and tear off the edges of the napkin). We glue the motif as follows: first glue the surface of the shoes with glue, then attach a napkin to it and cover it with glue also from above. Act quickly, until the thin layer of paper is wet.
  6. Do not try to cover a large area of the surface immediately. Stix the motifs gradually, and try to make the pattern on both ballet balls symmetrical.
  7. After the decoupage of the shoe is finished, it is necessary to dry them thoroughly.
  8. Let's start the decor. Using a hot glue gun, glue decorative materials, for example, roses from polymer clay.
  9. You can supplement the composition with green leaves, gently sticking them around the edges.
  10. Your "new" ballet flats are ready for use!
