The flea market began its activity in the 19th century, when ships arrived in Jaffa port and offered their goods. Since that time, trade continued to develop and was carried out even when the land was under British control.
Currently, the main street where the flea market is trading is Olei Zion, with smaller streets around it, such as Merguza Yehuda, Amiad, Beit Eshel.
All goods of the Jaffa flea market can be conditionally divided into three categories: flea market, old goods and household items, preserved from immigrants since the times of the USSR. There are a lot of antique things on the market - antique watches, cameras, rare lamp receivers and even military uniforms left from the time of the British colonial troops. Not always antique things can be bought at an affordable price, for example, these vintage things are very expensive. - bakery "Abulifiya", the date of foundation of which is 1879, it belongs to an Arab family and here you can taste delicious traditional Arabic pastries;
- restaurant "Doctor Shakshuka", is rightly recognized as one of the cult in Jaffa, here you can order traditional Jewish dishes;
- restaurant "Khumus-Abu-Hasan", its name speaks for itself, it sells the most delicious hummus.
For locals and tourists who decided to visit the flea market in Jaffa, the work time is fixed from 8am and almost till sunset every day. On Friday, visit the market is not recommended, because on this day there is a particularly large influx of visitors.
