  1. The fruits of feijoa do not require any special preparation. It is enough to wash them beforehand and let them dry.
  2. Now we cut off the tip with a characteristic tail, and cut the fetus in half.
  3. Lemon is immersed for a couple of minutes in boiling water, after which we cut the citrus into four longitudinal parts and remove the bones.
  4. Next, we need to grind the prepared fruits of feijoa and lemon in any available way. You can simply skip slices through a meat grinder or grind them with a blender. The latter option is certainly the most convenient and fastest. And the texture of delicacies in this case can be made more homogeneous and tender.
  5. The resulting mass of feijoa and lemon is mixed in an enameled container with sugar-sand and leave for several hours at room conditions, from time to time stirring, so that all the sugar crystals are dissolved.
  6. Prepack jam from feijoa with sugar without cooking on sterile and dry jars and seal them sealed with boiled lids.

Jam from feijoa without cooking with orange will be not less tasty and useful, only in this case instead of a lemon it will be necessary to take one large and ripe orange fruit.

  1. Feijoa with a dense flesh rinse under running water and leave on a towel to dry.
  2. We save each exotic specimen from the tips with tails, cutting them with a knife, and cut it in half.
  3. Lemon, as in the previous recipe, relieve the bitterness, having sustained in boiling water two minutes and after that having saved the citrus from the bones.
  4. Now halves of feijoa and lemon slices together with the cleared kernels of walnuts are ground in a blender or by grinding in a meat grinder.
  5. The resulting fresh aromatic mass is mixed with natural honey and packaged in sterile and dry containers. Having sealed the cans with cooked lids, we remove them for storage.

Instead of a lemon in this case, as in the previous one, you can take an orange, which will somewhat affect the taste qualities of the jam, but not in the worst.

How to store jam from feijoa without cooking?

Even with careful sterilization of containers, fresh jam from exotic fruits of feijoa should be stored in a refrigerator or a cold cellar. The billet is not subjected to heat treatment and when stored in room conditions is more likely to ferment and deteriorate.

If you double the proportions of granulated sugar in the first recipe, such jam can be stored in the room, but even in this case it will need to be consumed within the first three months.
