Reversible Psychology

Reversible psychology, or psychology from the opposite, is the term consisting in the emergence of the directly opposite reaction of a person to a motivation for action, propaganda or education. This peculiar form of manipulation works especially well for children, adolescents and those individuals who are rebels from nature and fight for freedom and power for the most part only because of the principle.

How did it come about?

The developer of this theory of motivation is Michael Apter, who together with colleagues for a long time studied the nature of motivation and gave an explanation of the duality of human nature. According to Michael, at one and the same time a person can not feel the desire to make two opposite actions. For example, it's silly to ask someone for help, who is in trouble, because the problems of another person are secondary at the moment. Or the following example: in a closed group a person seeks to become a part of it, to join the rest or choose independence. However, based on the fundamentals of the same reversible psychology, a person can quickly switch from one state to another, and vice versa.

To get the right reaction, the main thing is to choose the right moment and make a series of actions to induce a person's self-transition to the required state. Reversive psychology in relationships is used in a variety of areas, from politics and marketing to everyday life. Her discoveries are used by the media. For example, taking into account the methods of reversible psychology, employees of advertising companies give forecasts about the reaction of the audience to advertising, suggest the appearance of rejection and negative reaction.

Reversible psychology between a man and a woman

Of course, in the relationship between the sexes also does not do without the basics of reversible psychology. When a woman needs something from a man, but she is sure that a direct request will cause a negative reaction, she resorts to a trick. For example, wanting to spend with the loved ones all weekend, but knowing in advance that he was going on fishing, hunting or in a sauna with friends, she tells him something like: "You again will not be home all weekend, but I'm even glad I use it time to communicate with my best friend and go to a nightclub. " A man will have a natural desire to stay at home, since he can not or does not want to let his favorite one go to the club.

Wishing to marry a candidate of your choice, you should never let him know that you are very interested in this. On the contrary, one must constantly say how good one is, how comfortable the easy relations are and how nice the attention of other men is. A man-owner will not tolerate rivalry and will do everything to ensure that his woman belongs only to him. And so in everything, but it is necessary to remember that reversible psychology in dealing with a man does not always work. The latter may be too smart or have a slightly different character store to get into this trick.

Books on Reversible Psychology

Actually, the very first book is the work of Michael Apter himself "Outside the personality traits. Reversive theory of motivation ". The reader will be able to learn the main points of the new psychological concept, to obtain an accessible introduction to this theory. In the pages of his book the author explains why a person constantly changes and contradicts himself. Another book by Eric Berne "People who play games." In his work, the author studies interhuman relations from the position of an adult, child and parent. He believes that at different times a person can be in any of these three states and, depending on this, build relationships with other people.
